I used to have a boss that used to say that we are all in the business of sales, some happen to have another job as well. The point was that one way or another we at least need to be able to "sell ourselves".
To be clear – not in any literal sense, but from the perspective of marketing your own sort of professional brand. Being visible – as the Brazilian saying we learn at a young age goes:
A baby that doesn't cry doesn't get fed.
I totally understand and subscribe to that way of thinking. It doesn't make me good at it necessarily. It's outside of my comfort zone. But I need to push myself on it because it does matter. So here I am…
All of that just to give some context and justification for what I am about to do here:
Shamelessly use this blog to talk about an upcoming speaking opportunity to talk about how flow enables product development, with some practical insights on how to create focus (that leads into flow).
It's going to be in the Online Scrum Master Summit of this year (2024). Below is the official poster for my talk:
I guess somewhat in my defense, I am also 'nudging' you to join me to the session because it's planned to be an interactive one. So we can talk about what I will be sharing – we can even disagree for as long as it's done in a civilized manner, obviously. Those who know me well know that I am not shy of a good debate, quite the contrary.
I hope you can at least consider joining, and I would absolutely appreciate it if you could join in the end. And would absolutely love it if you could help to create some nice interaction during the session as well. If that's not asking too much, of course. 😀
As a little teaser (or spoiler), here are some insights on some of the key messages:
Defining the "system" and the "leverage" of what to improve.
How to (practical tactics with a little taxonomy) create focus to enable flow, and how that enables product development.
You have more agency than you think. You can do it too!
See you there!?
By Rodrigo Sperb, feel free to connect, I'm happy to engage and interact. If I can be of further utility to you or your organization in getting better at working with product development, I am available for part-time advisory, consulting or contract-based engagements.
Hi Rodrigo! Do you have a publicly available recording of your talk?
That is amazing that you are speaking at this event.
